When a certain Chicago resident became president of the United States, I decided that it was my civic duty to take the train down to Washington and see it happen for myself. It was a great weekend, filled with friends, concerts, and Myth Busters, but I just found a couple of stunning pictures I didn’t realize I had. The inaguration was pretty early, but we decided to get there practically at the break of dawn to make sure we’d get good seats. The good part of that was that we did get good seats and we got to see the sun rise over the National Mall. Below is my favorite of those pictures, the Capitol against a pink-orange backdrop – the perfect way to start a pretty epic day.
