I think the title pretty much says it all.  What have I learned from this?  Always get to events very, very early and it’s time to clean the lens on the SLR!

For those who didn’t hear about this, the Space Shuttle Discovery was carried on the back of a 747 to its final resting place out at the Air and Space Museum’s annex near Dulles.  On the way, it made a few sweeps over the mall and different places in DC, just to show off, at an altitude of about 1500 feet, which is approximately 3 times the height of the Washington Monument.  It was pretty cool and I’ll be sure to post more pictures from this some other time, including the one where Tom’s with the space shuttle visible over his head…
