I’m not sure how many of you know about the celestial event happening today, but the internet’s been abuzz with news of the Transit of Venus. Apparently it takes place 8 years apart, but after today will not be back for another hundred years. So for most, if not all of us, this will be the last Transit of Venus to take place in our lifetimes. Seems like such a minor event, but it’s supposed to look pretty cool, so I’ll probably be at the Air and Space Museum and you should all find the closest viewing location. Since today I was at the US Naval Observatory (more pictures to come), I thought it appropriate to post this video. The guy in it was actually our tour guide tonight. Well, here’s the telescope at the USNO pointed towards Saturn, like you do… But don’t worry, there are more pictures to come!
